KISS CHILDREN EMBRACE STREET CHILDREN- AN UNMATCHED EXPRESSION OF COMPASSION AND EMPATHY
The street children of Bhubaneswar awoke on 12 April 2016 with the lingering memory of the torturous raging heat of yesterday. Little did they know what lay ahead of them today. How would they? All the days of their lives they have seen the same fervor of drudgery. An isolated world of their own! Headless figures on nameless walls! Nobody ever cares to hear their cries, their blues, and their loneliness. However, today had a different flavor for these children, as they, caught unaware, had received a humane touch that a child secretly yearn at the deepest abyss of their souls. The care was given by none other than the children of KISS, who once were too a deprived lot. The scene of KISS children mingling with the street children, grooming the, giving them clothes, sharing the life skills they have learnt, playing with them melted all hearts and turned every dry eye, that witnessed the event, misty. A moved Achyuta samanta said, "This is the true Rahgir show that infused a great sense of comaraderie and hope for a better tomorrow for the street children." He went on to add, "What the KISS children did today was an exemplary expression of unpolluted compassion and empathy."
